Hi. I've spent some time searching. Wanted to say that upfront. I just can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for in the threads. I have a 2001 Explorer Sport. It had the Audiophile system, with DSP and sub out. It blew. I didn't know how easy it was to get them fixed, and ........ well, someone unqualified tried, and that was the end of that. :( . The unit I got to replace it was not the Audiophile, just the regular 'ol 6 CD Changer/radio. I want to go back to the Audiophile. I have found some newer clip in versions, but they have newer plug styles. Are there any Plug Adapters to adapt my "older" style plugs to the newer versions?

Or, since I've found MANY MANY of the newer bolt in style, and only a few of the 4 hole clip style (which is what I need) are there any adapters for making the bolt-in work in a "clip in " system?

Do those questions make sense? All help greatly appreciated.

You're better off trying to get one for your truck. You would basically have to find/make adapters for the new one as well as swap housings since the new ones bolt in, not clip in like ours do.

Thanks for the quick reply. Probably right on the bolt-in models.

What about harness adapters for the plugs on the newer version of the clip in? I've seen a coule of those. Would just need the newer style plugs. Any suggestions there?

Clip in ones fron '98 and up are universal. As long as you get a Mach(audiophile) unit you'll be fine. I know of a site, if I can find it that sell these units. Let me try and find it.

Oh, and at the bottom are different harness adapters.
