2001 running boards

What are my options for replacing stock running boards on my 2001. They are rusted up pretty bad. Don't know if they are worth fixing.

I know Westin make replacements and I'm sure others do too but none of them are as sturdy as OEM.

go to ebay and search 01 explorer Sport trac running boards...

Mine were really rusty and gross too. I just got them looking brand new this past weekend

If you have a power drill and a wire wheel bit for it you can knock all bad rust off, then hand sand or angle grind the rest off. I then primed and sanded again with real fine paper and gave it 2 coats of semi gloss black and it looks nice and smooth!

Or if ur set on buying new ones just ebay and look around. Ive never been scammed or disappointed with eBay

Does anybody know if a 2003 year running boards will fit a 2001? I just pulled mine off of my 03 a month or so ago and I'm not sure what to do with them. They only have a small amount of rust from rock chips on the front edge.

Yup. 01-05 is the exact same boards. Lund makes some nice ones
