i know that the first gens came with a step bar or nerf bars style boards from the factory. im curious if anyone has come across a running board style (more flat) that tucks up nice to the bottom of the side cladding?

The closest I've seen have probably been on the black ST from Oklahoma (moving/ed to Canada) on black 35s, LED light bar, super lift, etc. I can't remember his name but I think "baddest" ST was in his description, or something like that. I think he used F150 bars...can't remember. Haven't seen him around in a while.

yeh i was debating a shallow "board" vs. thicker "tube" cause i go on light trails but have a short wife. i am open to options as i am unsure what i can do that help both the short wife situation and the offroad issue

If you lean on them enough they'll flatten out on the bottom like mine :D

yeh i had nerfs before my lift and took them off for offroading but now im lifted and the wife struggles.

the nerfs i had before were powder coated till i dragged them scraped them and dented them to oblivion

nerfs are around 3-4 inches and stick below the body by anywhere up to 5" i think the boards will only sacrifice a total of 2-3 inches

Hugh, I know exactly who you are talking about but all of his threads disappeared off both this forum and over on MyST. I remember his name was ben. I found his profile on MyST. Here's a picture of his ST with the flat running boards.

I wish they made amp power steps for our trucks. Know a couple people with lifted f250's that have them and those things are great

thanks runner thats exactly what i want i think this will help with clearance over the nerf bars. plus i would tuck them up tighter too

Those are pretty sweet. I was at all truck nationals last year and saw a lifted 350 that had them. Then he bolted regular steps on those giving you 2 steps into the truck and you definitely needed both to get in that truck. I'd be afraid the motor would give out with all the mud dust and rocks that my truck sees though.

No problem. I wish I could find anything from him anymore. I do remember there was a lot of controversy in his threads so that could be why their gone. Another one that disappeared was the blue SAS/SOA ST I think twotonesam did. His threads still there but he deleted everything.

Haha, very true. I've had to jump on mine a few times to "reposition" them.

I have had to use a little persuasion too. Luckily my passenger side is flat so it's not too bad for others to get in and out unlike my side. High clearance comes at a price I guess.

Hey 05dakotatrac, I was randomly looking around the internet for things and found that Hunter makes the blade style running boards and made me think of this thread. They have it in black and aluminum. Heres the link: http://www.truckgeardirect.com/?ITEMID=BF-8105C

You could get a set of rock slider with steps attached or just single steps for each door

thanks for the hook up pat??? (01strunner) for 120 i jumped thats the best price i have seen yet

thought crossed my mind on the slider with board setup similar to i believe chad551 had on his old white trac. after all im buying a welder for my AK 47 build so all i would need is the steel.

Yeah man no problem! Eventually I'll be building sliders similar to chads. Until then I'll try to be nice to my steps and rocker panels.
