I installed rotors and brakes and each time they warped really fast in like a few weeks. the rotors were purchased at abc auto parts for $26.00 a piece could they be defective? I find it hard to believe that there is anything wrong with my calipers on a truck this new .could the parts house be giving me the wrong brakes or rotors. i mean the latest set has been on on a week or so and after about 5 days i started noticing slight pulsation so today I looked at the rotors and there is slight score marks on the outside of the rotors.dont know about the inside yet.
any help greatly app.

$26.00 dollars a piece, you got a case of buying really cheap rotors, you get what you pay for.

$26 is about right for OEM. They run around $30-40 for OEM.

That is about what I pay for my oem rotors.

Before you put the rotors on did you sand and clean the hub? The reason I ask is because the hubs themself can have runout which can only be corrected by machining the rotor with an "on the car brake lathe".

Get a dial indicater and micrometer set and go check your hub and rotor for runout and also check the rotor for thickness variation.

Did you use a torque wrench on the wheels? 100 foot-pounds.

If you're using air tools to tighten the lug nuts, or are not tightening them in a star pattern, you can warp the rotors.

Warpped rotors can also be caused from them heating up and cooling off to quickly...

Try to avoid those puddles after hard breaking, or washing your rims at the car wash while the rotors may still be hot.

HTH!

figured out my prob

the auto parts store apparently gave me the wrong rotors and pads although it was not their fault it appears that in their computer the listing is the same part # for the exp and the exp sport as well as the sport trac. we have 3 major parts stores in the philly area peps autozone and abc auto I called them all and asked them to check and theirs was the same for all 3 models so ill have to go to the dealer forthe parts.thanks much for all feedback.
