Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and think it's great, very knowledgeable crew.

When I start my vehicle the 4hi & Lo lights do not flash on, when I try to engage either of them nothing happens, no lights, no sounds and defenitely no 4WD.

Can you advise please....thanks!

When you switch to 4hi or lo do you hear a clicking sound from the passenger side kick panel? If not then your 4x4 module is shot. This is common with the ST's.

I hear nothing at all, where exactly is this and will a module from an explorer work (IE.2000 Explorer?).

thanks!

It is located behind the kick panel on the passenger side. I have no idea if a unit from an explorer will work.

I took the kick panel off and there looks to be about three different types of module with wires coming out both ends.

It is held in by two screws and there are two plugs connected to it. The Ford replacement part number is 1L5Z-7E53-AC the new part will have -AE at the end, @ ford it cost $176. Also check your fuses as well.

Transfer Shift Control Module

Hi Everyone,

It was the transfer shift control module, there was also another wire under the hood that was making ground causing a fuse to blow everytime the brake was touched....

Thanks for all your help!
