I am working on a friends 2001 Explorer Sport Trac air conditioning.

What is the torque spec. for the air conditioning hose manifold to the back of the compressor (single bolt). Also, what is the torque spec for the A/C hose to the top condenser connection?

Thanks!

71 in.lb. for the manifold and peanut fittings.

Thank you! The hose is leaking on the underside near the power steering fluid cooler. The Ford dealer said, "There is not a spec, just tighten them down.".... They were too lazy to look up the spec.

I am going to replace the hose Friday evening - it doesn't look like it will be too bad of a job.

There's a torque spec for everything on a Ford I think.

Well actually, I just tighten the heck out of them too!

I have a bad habit of overtightening fasteners...:) so I like to use the torque specs. whenever they're available.

I got it fixed. The worst part was getting the old line out after the fittings were disconnected and routing the new line in place. I wound up fishing the compressor manifold/condenser end up from the bottom and then fed the opposite side up to the accumulator. Even at that being a contortionist would have been a help...

I vacuumed it down for 1 hour and charged it up and all is fine.
