2001 sport trac idle problem

yes i know theres a few of these topics but one thing i havent seen going through them is the problem i have or i just missed it somewhere if so my bad

when i turn on the ac or heat onto defrost or any of the combos it idles down hit the gas it dies but its fine if its just on the legs or just on the dash vents. i have seen things that say iac or the air filter but there was no direct response to if its the same problem im having or not. if anyone can confirm that it is or not i would be greatful.

I can't confirm either way but you can clean the iac valve yourself and if it fixes the problem great and if not you didn't lose anything. While your there cleaning the iac…might as well clean throttle body, air filter and maf sensor wouldn't hurt. I had a rough idle, bouncy and just seemed like a lack of power but after I cleaned the above, it def. made a difference. My iac was horrible, all black and gunked up.
