2001 Sport Track - No 4wd

No lights on dash (even during engine start light test sequence) no indicator lights on switch, won't go into 4wd. Some have suggested the 4wd module is the culprit (where is this mysterious black box?) Others suggest the transfer case motor, but less likely since no power to lights. Does anyone know who makes a decent manual with an electrical schematic?
Spinning my (back) wheels on this one...

4x4 module was the culprit. It's located behind the drivers side kick panel by the pedals. Replacement part cost over $400 .
