I was looking though a power steering part list today while putting together a list of parts for a friend.
I came across,
power steering pressure switch,
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS PSS4
there were a few other models as well. I also found the part at a Ford site for my engine,
Ford 3F1Z3K215A Power Steering Pressure Switch
As usual, the kindergarten diagrams at the Ford site give no indication as to where this is installed.
I have replaced my entire power steering system including the pump, rack and pinion, reservoir, cooler, and all the hoses. I have no memory of this part when I disassembled the system. I didn't have to disconnect any wiring harnesses and there was no where for this to go that I can remember. Reading about these sensors in general, they are supposed to go on the high pressure side of the system but I have no idea where.
Does my truck actually have one of these?
Why do I not have a warning light of some kind if it's missing?
How did I miss this in taking the system apart?
Information would be appreciated.
