2002 Eddie Bauer Explorer and Line In/iPod

Hi everyone. (First post!) I have a 2002 Eddie Bauer Explorer with the 6 CD changer. I'd like to somehow use or get a line in for my iPod. I've tried other options (the Belkin thing that works with your radio) and none seem to really be very good. Is there anyway to do this outside of completely replacing the radio/spending a ton of money? I'm relatively handy and not afraid to work on electronics per say. (I rewire my guitars, etc.)
