I have a 2002 Explorer XLT. I have owned this vehicle for at least 12 years and have never used the door keyless keypad because I wasn't given the number when it was bought. After spending the past few weeks doing much needed maintenance and repairs I decided to find the code # and try to make it work. I was able to find the code number and it successfully unlocked my door, hatch etc. I grabbed my manual to try and reset the code and by the time I came back every number was illuminated and will not go off or respond to the factory code. I tried to just wait it out and nothing, its still on. Any ideas?
UPDATE: I was able to disconnect the battery and now it seems to be functioning as normal.
