I am trying to find a set of 16" stock alloy wheels for my 2002 Explorer. I found set at a junk yard from a 2003 explorer. They told me that the wheels would not fit my 2002. According to them, my 2002 has a 5 X 4.5 bolt pattern and the 2003 has a 5 X 134mm bolt pattern. Can anybody verify this? I'm totally dumb when it comes to stuff like this, but I thought the 2002-2005s were pretty much the same. Would it be worth taking a trip to the junk yard and pulling one of my wheels off to see if they fit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AFAIK all Explorers from 91-07 have a 5X4.5 Bolt pattern, but 02+ rims have a different offset. The 03 rims should work just fine on your 02.

Your junkyard may be confused, as all 97-03 Expedtions and F150s with 5 lug wheels have a 5X135 bolt pattern (metric).

I agree. The rims will fit your rig.
