June 04, 2002 - Vehicle exhibits long crank no start condition (1823 miles)
July 16, 2002 - Vehicle serviced to address long crank condition hot or cold; rear storage area lift handle has fallen off; drivers door bolts are loose causing faulty alignment and safety catch was loose; first free oil change. Vehicle was out of service for two days (5133 miles)
Aug 13, 2002 - Started vehicle and heard strange noise and change in engine idle speed, did not notice any other change until green fluid (anti-freeze) began spraying from underneath the vehicle, power steering was non operational. Vehicle was in an overheating condition due to the serpentine belt becoming dislodged from the pulley system. Vehicle was towed to dealership after being stranded for two hours. Readdressed long crank condition and was verified by the service department and Idle Air Control Valve was replaced. Still awaiting rear console lid from service accomplished on July 16, 2002. Oil change was also accomplished at this service for $38.93. Vehicle was out of service for two days (9823 miles)
Sept 13, 2002 - Rear console lid catch replaced from service calls of July 16 and Aug 13. Turned vehicle back in again for long crank condition, dealership claims could not duplicate during this visit during vehicle pick up exhibited long crank condition in front of the service writer Alan Finely. Transmission concerns at this time consist of popping out of first gear during start from dead stop as well as grinding when trying to shift into second gear. Dealership claims to be unable to verify the concern. Vehicle out of service for five days. (11693 miles)
Nov 11, 2002 - Returned vehicle for long crank condition, at this time the vehicle also began stalling during stops and acceleration. Service manager unable to verify concern dealership installed a VDR (data recorder) and returned the vehicle to me the morning of Nov 16, 2002. Returned the vehicle at 11:18 am with six events logged in the data logger. Dealership determined that the processor was getting faulty data from the system and replaced the processor. Vehicle also still having transmission problems, consist of popping out of first gear during start from dead stop as well as grinding when trying to shift into second gear and chatter while releasing the clutch. Discovered the fuel filler neck was loose behind the filler door, dealership tightened bolts behind fuel door. Vehicle was out of service for ten days. (15395 miles)

Vehicle also still having transmission problems, consist of popping out of first gear during start from dead stop as well as grinding when trying to shift into second gear and chatter while releasing the clutch. Service manager and Ford field service engineer unable to verify concern. I waited for two hours and thirty-seven minutes for the Ford Field service representative to come and test-drive my vehicle before he showed up. After waiting he showed up, drove the vehicle thru the parking lot for five minutes and then left without talking to either my wife or myself. Vehicle was out of service for 1 day. (19356 miles)

Mar 11, 2003 - After continued problems followed advice of service writer Alan Finley and brought the vehicle to a different dealership in Gridley, CA. Long crank without starting concern addressed by testing the fuel bleed off pressure, dealership replaced fuel pump for erratic readings. Vehicle also still having transmission problems, consist of popping out of first gear during start from dead stop as well as grinding when trying to shift into second gear and chatter while releasing the clutch. Found defective pressure plate in clutch mechanism (springs not present) Vehicle out of service for 17 days (20769 miles)
Mar 29, 2003 - Brought vehicle to gas station after picking it up from the service department two days before. While fueling the vehicle 3.879 gallons of fuel were pumped on the ground after the fuel filler neck became dislodged from the fuel tank. My wife was made to provide our insurance information to the ARCO station for the environmental clean up costs. (20851 miles)

Dec 06, 2003 - Received response from dispute settlement board, offered a 5 year 75,000 mile warranty with a $50.00 deductible, refused the offer from the dispute settlement board
Feb 27, 2004 - Vehicle tow charge from Preston towing for vehicle no start condition, towed to future Ford $39.00 (35907 miles)
Feb 27, 2004 - Long crank no start condition, vehicle towed into Future Ford. Verified concern and replaced Idle Air Control valve for the second time. Also addressed front seat trim issue that never was fixed.
