2002 Ford Sport Trac
Hi I have a 2002 Sports Trac with a Idle problem. When at Idle the truck seems to drop rpm's and sort of stutter for a second and then pick back up. I have replaced the spark plugs, air filter,Idle control valve, the rubber l rube that loops from the front of the engine to the back(sorry I forgot the name of the part). The truck seems to run alot better but still drops rpm's and stutters a little bit when at idle. Also no code is being thrown at the check engine light. Help please! Im loosing my mind with this problem.

Thanks,

Ryan

Sports Trac Idle Problems

Sorry also have a new fuel filter.

test for a vacum leak near the upper intake manifold gasket. you can get a propane can and turn it on without igniting it, and running it along the gasket, if you get a jump in rpms at any point, you have a leak. i hope i explained that in a way that makes sense. if it doesnt search youtube for "how to test for vacum leaks". good luck

Also clean the throttle body and MAF sensor.
Should be considered routine maintenance. GL

Thanks guys!! Now would I be looking for a seal going bad on the intake manifold or more a vacum line going bad ?

it could also be a vacum line. check them good. sometimes its hard to see the cracks in those rubber hoses and pipes. i just went to a pick and pull and replaced my cracked elbow for a about a dollar. aamco was trying to charge me 600 to find my vacum leak. i just went there to get my codes read and solved it myself!

Is there a diagram that will tell me all the vacum lines near the manifold?
