I'm wondering if anyone has a bulb number for the instrument cluster in a 2002 XLT. I've read some posts that say it is a 194. The bulbs that I pulled from there are about half the size of the 194.

I did find this website that lists, among a couple of other bulbs, a 168. A google search turned up a picture of a package that showed a 161 bulb.

Anyhow, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

I'm looking for brighter bulbs. I can barely see mine these days. How hard is it to replace the instrument cluster bulbs?

How about the OVERDRIVE BULB # and if it fits into a socket that gets twisted into the cluster? I went to a dealer and also found the diagram they showed me on www.fordparts.com. I found 13B765A and B which look like the dash bulbs.

It is either burnt out or removed and when I bought the vehicle I didn't realize it. I had to have the trans rebuilt on top of everything. Plus the Overdrive switch button in the gearshift was broken. So I replaced the switch pressed it and no light showing OD was off. That is when I realized the bulb was not working.

I'm kicking myself in the rear for not moving my Jeep Grand Cherokee to higher ground and it go flooded to the bottom of the dash with salt water. Then I buy the Explorer and am finding those little annoying things messed up. Rear avoidance not working. Put into reverse and the light comes on the switch saying off. I guess there is something wrong with the system. The MFS for the wipers is messed up. The 6 CD player says full or error when I try to use. I must be slipping in my old age not seeing obvious things and not trying everything.
