2002 sport Trac panel under the steering wheel

Hello I am trying to remove the panel under the steering wheel I have found two screws and it seems like it is loose but I'm not sure if I need to find more screws or just to pull up and out? I'm trying to replace the flasher relay. Thank you

If you have a tilt column and are having intermittent issues with your turn signals try tilting the wheel all the way UP first.
Very common for the multi function switch (MFS) wiring connector to come loose and cause problems.

Assuming your issue is the flasher unit and not the wiring connected to the MFS... there are a few screws (4?) on the bottom edge of the plastic trim panel, two of which hold the hood release handle. On the top corners of the trim panel there are 2 push-in metal clips that hold the panel in place. You can just pop them out with a flat-blade screw driver. Behind the plastic panel there is a steel panel that is bolted in place (4 bolts IIRC). Once the metal plate is removed the flasher is right there.
