2002 Sport Trac
I hope this finds everyone doing well. I've been cruising the forums for a while and finally decided to jump in today so please excuse me if my questions are redundant. I own a 2002 Explorer Sport Trac with 171,000 miles on it. The only issues (non routine maintenance) I've had so far have been I just had to have the lower balls joints and front wheel bearings replaced. My question/concern is that I use this truck to pull a little popup camper and have a good bit of sag in the back end when towing it. What do I need to replace to correct this issue? I know the shocks on the whole truck probably need to be replaced as they are still the originals. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My '02 is lowered 2" in the back so I installed Monroe Max-Air's for the occasional load I tote. They work well IMO.
They're MA776's and are $62.00 @ Amazon.com, the cheapest place I found them at the time.

With that mileage you surely need shocks and probably sway bar end link bushings too. Get those in Moog blue polyurethane.

Welcome to the Sport Trac forums iron demon and edmiller741 !:D

For occasional towing air adjustable shocks in the back are amazing. they help level out the truck and eliminate sway due to a lot of tongue weight. had the valve stem put in the same crevice as the 12V outlet in the bed so its out of the way and wont get broken. It helped when i was towing a setup about 5500 pounds

I ran my lines into the cab, to the left compartment behind the back seats where I'll mount my on-board compressor .......... eventually ........... maybe........

Keep your eye out on ebay for used compressors, they are on there all the time.
