2002 tranny question

My 02 XLT has been a great truck but the first owner had a 75K warranty and was very well cared for and serviced. Timing chain,rear seals etc. I had my dealer change the tranny filter and fluid and it has been running great. It had the trailer tow but was never used for trailering. It was built on April 23 of 2002. Some posts have said two trannys were put in the 02's. How can I tell which tranny I have? I have also changed both differentials and transfer case with Amsoul plus friction modifier in the back. I bought it a 75K and now it has 95K on the clock.

You eigther have the 5r55w or the 5r55s. I am almost positive you will have the 5r55w as most 02s have that trans. The only difference is the 1st to 2nd gear ratio. I personally like the 5r55w better, seems to have a firmer first to second shift. My 06 has the 5r55s, the only difference is from 1st gear.
