2002 vs 2003-05 4.6 V8

I've noticed based on interchange manuals the 02 V8 engines do no list as interchangeable with 03-05.

Does anyone know the differences?

cylinder block

Electronic throttle control was not implemented until 2004.
The 2002 cylinder block (P/N 1L2Z6010BA) was changed in 2003 (P/N 3L2Z6010AA). I don't know specifically what was changed on the block. I think they were both aluminum.

Correct my 03 is cable. I'll stick with the 03-05 block thanks.
