2002 xlt front bumper

Hello all, another question for everyone here.

I've got a damaged front bumper (the lower part) the upper part is painted and in great condition (black to match the color) if I buy a replacement bumper, is the upper part interchangable, or do I need to get the bumper top painted prior to replacing?
