I Have a 2002 Xlt with the 4.6 and am thinking of lifting it but want to know that it looks like, also and tips for a good exhaust? I want it to sound better. Thanks!!
well im sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the only way u can lift is for it to be expensive because no one makes a "kit".... wut i did is i went to coilsprings.com and got a quote on a set of lifted springs and i put those in my struts in the front to level it out... if u call them too it helps it get done faster.... im sure wheel travel is limited since theres only so far a spring can depress in a strut but i havent seen that huge of a difference and it helps with its looks.. make sure u get ur wheels realigned, ur camber and toe adjusted, and rotate ur tires if u see chopped wear in the front... because this wasnt made for it to be a lift it it just kind of a rig to give u that extra height... but yea heres the result... if u want more pics to be sure before u spend the money let me know... this was about 160 with 20 bux shipping from kansas to louisiana
they try so hard to make those look big but u can see that frame hanging down... the only option is suspension mods... leave the body alone.. its already got enough frame hanging down
yea but if u put running boards back on they would have to be extremely low to hide all that frame.. and the XLS frontends already look too plain and boring and with a BL u cant throw a grille guard or a bull bar on it.. just IMO
yea people say u can makeshift a kit from a ranger BL but IMO it would be retarded to show that much frame and ur not gaining any ground clearance anyway...and if u dont kno wut ur doing and u had to bring it to a shop it will probably be a pretty expensive job since its not the exact thing for it... but yea just throwing that out there
i am thinking about it on my 2002 just have to convince my wife to let me do it on her truck...
i will have to definatly get soe running boards..
which is what I did on my 1995 when i did the body lift. but it was only a 2 inch.
as far as ground clearane. you do gain it for the reason that you are probably installing larger tires....
