I want to install a couple of 5x7's in my back doors and I was just wondering if it would be the same panel removal process as the older model explorers? This is my first time doing it so what should I be careful with?

You have to remove the plastic panel that sits behind the door handle. It is just held on with pressure clips. Once you remove that panel the rest is obvious. There are only 2 screws and the window control plastic to remove. Once removed, just lift up on the door panel and it will slide up and off.

Good luck.

ummm.....

Ok i'm gonna sound like an idiot but here it goes anyways... I'm installing a pair of infinity kappa 572.5cf's (trying too anyways cause I have never done any audio install whatsoever). I got the door panel off. Afterwards, I unscrewed the stock speaker and took off that little connector but now I am lost... Do they sell special adapters to plug my speaker into that lil "connector" or do I splice those wires and do what??? if I do splice what do I wrap them with so it will be safe? I don't want to mess anything up:( . also I noticed that the infinity plays when i connect the wires one way and it still plays when I flip flop them... what's up with that? (i was able to check this by sticking my positive and negative wires in the little holes on the "connector" I menioned earlier) Geeze I think I am making this harder on myself than it really is but I'm lost

You can get the wiring harness adapters at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc... The speaker will play with the wires connected either way. Of course it is better to wire positive to positive. Just get the adapters and it will be much easier.
