Hi All-
I have a 2003 XLT with about 17k miles on it. It has never had any brake work done to it. The wear pattern (pad contact area) is very small. I've looked at other Explorers and they had a much larger contact (wear) area. On my truck the front rotors have about 1.25", and the rears 7/8". This seems really small, so much so as to impact stopping power/distance. Is this a factory defect? Both fronts are the same, as well as the rears. Were there any TSB's concerning this issue? Thanks in advance for your help.
