Sitting at a stop light the other night my explorer died and wouldn't start again and we had it towed home it will turn over and sometimes starts but dies seconds later. We can hear the fuel pump engage and it tries to start. It kinda acts like its out of gas but it has 3/4 tank. So far we Replaced the fuel filter. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest testing for spark and fuel pressure.
Make sure you keep the battery charged. The stater draws a lot of juice.

For the sake of others, which engine do you have?

Its a 2004 limited 4x4 V8 4.6l. So far my husband has changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, a fuel pump relay , still won't run. Sometimes it will start but within a minute or two it starts spuddering and dies. Alternator was tested its good, battery also good, all fuses are good. When you put gas in the fuel injectors it starts right up then dies. Any ideas or suggestions? Please and thank you???

Need to check the fuel pressure at the rail.

Well we rented the pressure tool but cant find the shradder valve do you know where it might be?

I'm not exactly sure. Start a new thread with the appropriate title and you should get a 'quick' response. Make sure to include you engine size again.
