hows it going guys? My name is Shane im new to the club and also off roading entirely. im a Mustang guy but i have a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT 4.6 that i got last year and have recently been taking her off road cuz my brother in law is in the forestry industry and i've been going up to the site with him. so what happened is i blew out all my struts and shocks. i need to get beefed up replacements but ive called everywhere and nobody has anything for an 04. they are all showing Ranchos for 03's but not for 04's. i work at a ford dealer so i went to parts to see if the part numbers were the same from 03 to 04 but they arent. so something had to of changed. i have no idea what changed but i dont know if the 03s shocks and struts will fit. the other problem is if i order them and open the box they wont take them back so im stuck in a hard place here. nobody is more qualified to help me out than you guys so i would appreciate any help at all. even the local 4x4 shop told me they couldent help me so i dunno whats going on. thanks again for all your help guys.

Shane

It sounds like you're SOL until the aftermarket companies come up with something. I don't know what would have changed either, I thought they didnt' change until '06.

Well, Rancho lists rear '04-'05 RSX17000 shocks and both fromt and rear '02-'04 RS9000X(adjustable) with an available 2" lift. I've got an '04, but I don't know what changed in front, or why the RS9000x shocks work for '02-'04 and RSX1700 don't. I'd give Rancho a call.

I to have been wondring about the adjustable shocks. Started a thread having not seen this one in reference to these for my 05. I emailed rancho bout it, but never got anything back from em.

They are Struts now, and Monroe has them. The Reflex Part No for Rear 931322. Couldn't find the Fronts. No idea as to how much, or if they are any good.
I have used Monroe SensaTrac on 2 trucks, excellent, but I have yet to use Reflex.
