I recently added a KN intake system and a gibson single exhaust system to my 4.6L V8. The motor seems to have a vibration when climbing a hill at a certain RPM or when down shifting climbing a hill. has anyone noticed this or heard of it. I was under the impression these or normal changes, not extreme differences. Can anyone help me with understanding what might be going wrong.

You mean like the engine is missing out or stumbling? Could be the MAF has got some oil on it from the K&N filter you added. I have heard that K&N over oils their filters and people will have problems when they first mount them on.

I would take the MAF sensor out and clean it with some carb cleaner. Be careful handling it. Let it dry up a bit and reinstall. Let us know if that helps.

Please do not use carb cleaner on the MAF sensor. It is a delicate electrical component. Use a non-residue electrical contact cleaner, such as deoxit.

I have always used it with 0 problems. But I guess better safe than sorry.

i would also let your computer re-learn this new setup by disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. it should normally auto-adjust, but i like to make sure

when i had my intake installed... i did the same thing as posted before me...

i disconnected my battery for 10 min... then reconnected... then let idle with the hood open for 10-15 min, and i have had no problems...

Never had a problem when I installed my K&N... Still having the problem?
