You likely have something stuck in the seat track. Put the seat all the way in the UP position, remove the 4 bolts that hold it to the floor, tip it back so you can see the tracks clearly. Clear them out and lube them. Note: You may have to also unbolt the seat belt receiver from the side of the tunnel to be able to tip the seat back (Torx T50 socket IIRC).
