A computer indicated Right Rear sensor.
I replaced it today -10, froze my fingers but didn't take long.
Still have the same problem, after driving about 1/2 mile.
Took it back out - luckily they took back the $75 (Standard) sensor.
Does not seem like rear bearing, although I have load noise, from the rear end.
Is the rear bearing, the only other thing it could be ?

Too damn cold to mess with that now.

There's a sensor in the rear diff, that is the most common fail point I believe. About $42.00 at NAPA and similar elsewhere I'm sure.
Don't ignore the bearing itself too long.

If the Explorer has AdvTrac, I do not think there is a sensor in the rear end differential.
Instead it has two sensors in the rear. One on each axle.
The computer said it was the right rear sensor.
Thats the one I replaced, but it still threw the fault light.

What is AdvTrac? Is it another name for the 3 buttons on the dash....4x4 auto,4x4 high and 4x4 low?

my advtrac light came on after my engine got replaced, took it to a shop with all the right tools and they just reflash my module and the light went away, been over 8 months now and the light never came back on...y it needed a reflash? beats the crap out of me..cost me $200

Had you disconnected the battery before putting the new one in?
Perhaps code just hadn't cleared yet after new install.

No I didn't - The light does not come on right away. I can drive it for about a mile or two, the AdvTrac system works and the ABS works fine. Then after about a mile the ABS and AdvTrac lights come on, and the AdvTrac and ABS do not work.
I took the sensor back to get my money back ($75) since it did not solve the problem.
