our 2005 ford explorer having high pitch humming sound, sounds like coming
from water pump or air leak front of the engine. Does anyone have any idea
what this might be.

HOw handy at doing your own repairs are you? I ask because my X decided to make noise the weekend too. Mine turned t out to be two bad idler pullys and a bad tensioner pully. If you are albe to remove the serpentine belt and run the X, you can see if the noise goes away. If it did than the noise is being caused by the belt or one of the pullys.

Thanks for responding. That I can do, I also look for the IAC, which I can not find nowhere on the explorer. According to Ford I should have one.

'05's do not have an IAC. they have an electronic throttle body and use drive by wire. The PCM controls the idle by controlling the throttle body opening.

Iac

thanks, so FORD has no idea what they have in their vehicles..ha ha.
PCM, do not think it will be the PCM making that hight/low pitch humming noise.

THANKS TO matt0248 I'VE been looking for a 2005 explorer IAC VALVE AND THOUGHT i WAS GOING CRAZY CHKAY
