I have a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer V8 AWD. If I start on the road, and turn hard to the left or right, there is a loud whining noise and the car will disable abs and advtrac and drive normal. From what I have read this disengages the front axle and basically turns the car into a rear wheel drive. I replaced the transfer case, as I have heard that there are problems with the viscous coupling inside. This did not fix my problem. There are no codes that are being pulled, but there is not a mechanic close enough that can pull ABS codes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
