This happenes only when the engine is warm and not all the time. When you start up the truck it goes up to 2k rpm and then drop the rpm and almost stall and eventually idle normal. Any idea what's wrong?

First place I always start with is a can of throttle body cleaner, air intake cleaner, and mass air flow cleaner... <$20... clean TB, MAF, and rest while you have it off. Can't hurt, and 'most of the time' fixes it. At least your not out much time or money if not.

Clean throttle body or replace it.

The TB is got motor attached to it, any special steps for cleaning it?

Not really, I use a rag to catch as much over spray as I can to prevent from going in motor... Had a 4.6 in an f250 that was so gummed up that I just pulled the TB off.

I read several posts recommending not to clean the 05 TB because it's throttle by wire and it need to be reprogrammed by the dealer after you clean it. On my G35 you can do manual programing using the key and gad pedal. Can we do it on the trucks?

If we can't clean the TB using TB cleaner what can we do to clean it?

Guess if I sold TB's I'd tell you not to clean as well... Of course, at your own risk, be cautious, etc... I cleaned mine, fixed idle problems.

How did you clean it and what cleaner used?

TB Cleaner from advance.... Sprayed the areas that had carbon build up, letting the excess run onto the rag. As you open and close the valve you'll see the areas that need to be cleaned. Let the cleaner do the work, don't scrub. Mr google should point you into other threads...

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Thanks! That's how I cleaned the regular TB, I was wondering if It's different for the drive by wire TB.
