Yesterday my wife tells me none of the windows can roll up on her 2005 Explorer XLT and of course are almost all the way down
I had just gotten home from a business trip and had to leave later the same day so there wasn't a lot of time to work on the truck
Pulled the underhood CB and replaced it (couldnt think of any way to test it plus it was under $10) still no windows. Got out the multimeter and checked the switch, no power coming in so I logged on here and did a search for "windows" in this section
Huge thanks to bigrondo for his posts like this one http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=385306
Honestly when I first read it I thought he was crazy, I mean how could there be this one wire causing all these issues for different trucks?
Since I had nothing else to check I said why not, pulled off the door panel then the wire harness sleeve going from door to fender, sure enough the damn blue/black wire was split, added about 4" of new wire, soldered, heat shrink and back in the game! Total time to dissemble, fidn the issue, reassemble was under an hour.
Huge thanks again to bigrondo and this entire forum
