Hi,

I'm looking at buying the above but there is no indicator light whatsoever when I press the 4wd auto button. The owner says that no light is supposed to come on.

Really? Is this true? How in the heck do you know if you are in 4wd auto or not?

this is correct, the 4x4 auto button is just there to remove it from 4x4 high or 4x4 low, it is always in 4x4 auto, its the way they were designed, its legit

Ok thanks. One less thing to negotiate about I guess.

Do you know if the trans was in any way improved for 2005? I'm just curious -- wouldn't like to buy a new one any time soon.

somewhat, i bought mine with 77,000 and it now has 101,000 and the trans is origional and shifts like a dream, i was somewhat suprised that its held up with no problems, knock on wood, what are the specs and price of the ex your lookin at

It's a 2005 XLT, 7 seater cloth interior, 40k miles, 4wd, no side airbags but it has Advancetrac RSC (not sure if this is a great help or gimmick, never tried it before), one owner all records for $12500 firm. I think it is not a bad deal. All maintenance was at the dealer.

ive heard nothing bad about RSC, mines an 02 so it was too early for it, thats a good price for the year and miles. id say go for it, and post pics if/when you get it

Will do. The owner still owes money on it -- I'm guessing I should go to the bank with him to see him pay it off, or even pay the bank myself. I'll figure it out.

for 12,5 K its a great steal...

at 40,000 your transmission should be in great shape... now at 40K, you should ask if the guy had the trans and t-case flushed. depending on who you talk with the preferred trans/t-case flush can be from every 30K to 40K miles...

good preventative maintence, will lead to a happy X

im planning on doing mine very soon. I'm going to make the switch to full synthetic motor and transmission oil...

Mobil 1 synthetic Truck & SUV, and Mobil 1 synthetic ATF
