Hello everyone!

This is my first post, looking at a 2006 Explorer V8 EB, Stone, pretty much fully loaded (no captains chairs- a good thing for me as the extra space is important), drove a couple today and really liked them.

A couple of notes. While I agree that the door pull handle could be better, both my and my wife tried to hit our knees when slamming the door, and we could not. You guys must have huge knees or something. I am 6'2" and she is 5'8". Also, with regard to the door opening from the inside, it actually seemed pretty logical to me. I looked, saw the chrome, and pulled on it, door opened. I did not need any coaching or help to figure it out, nor did the wife.

The truck that I am interested in has Navi, Rear Entertainment, etc. Any major issues with either?

Also, I saw that there are a couple of TSB's that need to be taken care of on some 06's. Anything else to look out for?

The truck is super solid and I was impressed with the sweet 6 speed and V8 combo. We were careful and seemed to be getting around 19 MPG on our test loop (according to the computer). We live in pretty rural Maine and would normally be either interstate driving, or rural roads from 40-60 MPH with limited traffic lights. I suspect we should be on the higher end of the MPG spectrum. Also really liked the turning radius.

I can't complain about a Explorer with a 44K + sticker price hitting the floor for 35K and change with 1.9% financing for 72 months available. I think we will pull the trigger tomorrow.

Either White or Stone, they have 2 in stock. The ford site is lacking in photos, does anyone have pictures of EB's in those colors?

Thanks for any advice.

My 06 E.B. has had no issues with either the nav., or the rear seat DVD. Almost 10,000 miles with no problems. Just survived about two weeks of sub-zero temperatures. Heated seats were great. The auto 4WD works great in the snow which we have had a lot of lately. I would reconmend this vehicle.

I have an '06 Eddie Bauer equipped with every possible option. Sticker was a tick over 45k. The captian chairs in the second row are nice. Issues i have had with DVD player is that the Sirius radio wouldnt play thru it (that was fixed) and the DVD player started playing at a very low volume. That hasnt been fixed yet. 35k for a 44k truck may sound great, but remember its a year old. Even though it may have no miles on it, 35k is more than what 'book value' would be for a 2006.

Almost loaded is mine... LOVE IT

26k miles..
