2006 explorer xlt
Hey, new here, I searched for my issue but didn't find anything and was looking for some help.

I have a 2006 explorer with a pioneer deh-4500bt deck installed to the factory speakers and sub. I was looking for a lot more bass so I put a pair of JL audio 12's in the trunk. Ran power, all good there. Ran the RCA wire and that's where I encountered my issue. My stereo had a plug with 1 set of RCA wires and a set of blue/white wires plugged in. I cant remember where the wires went on the stereo side, but they go to a plug in the factory harness. I unplugged it to plug in the RCAs for my subs and now I have no sound in the subs and rear speakers. Amp has power, but only the front doors work so I think this plug was somehow feeding the rears/amp. Ive looked for hours and can't find this plug in any wiring diagrams, and don't know how to get my sound back. The rear speaker wires are connected, just not working. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking an RCA splitter on the stereo so I can get my subs and the factory sub plugged in but I still don't know where these blue/white wires go.

Attached is a pic of the plug I'm talking about.

One should be remote turn on and the other antenna or something it didnt come with instructions did it?.....

I made an account to check on this post in the wild hopes I may get a response on a 3-year old thread, lol.

What happened? Did you figure it out, because I am facing a similar prospect. I am trying to connect an aftermarket (KDC-X304) stereo to my stock subwoofer and amp, and that looks like the harness I need to do it. But I want to find out before I try: did you kill your speakers doing it? Did you ever get them back?

In the meantime, I did find out that one of those wires is likely the remote power on wire for the amp, and is required for it to function. And the second one might be for a power antenna, maybe. Hope that helps all these years later 😆

God bless if you happen to see this reply and can provide any info!

That is the additional harness needed to keep the stock sub working as far as I know…
