So I bought my son a 2006 Explorer XLS 4 door with 4.0. Wow I should have researched before buying it. The vehicle has 100,000 miles on it. I got it home and within 2 days I got a drivers door ajar signal, check engine light (p0401) and no heat. I fixed those problems, but now I was just driving it, we put 400 miles since we bought it. I was driving down the highway and a Check LR Turn Signal warning came on, the blinker blinked really fast, I immediately thought about replacing the bulb. I stopped to get gas, shut it off, restarted it and everything was normal, the blinkers worked perfectly without doing anything. My question is, has anyone had the before, or is there anything I should replace. I don't want to send him to college with problems.

Thanks

Scott

More to original post. so this morning the light warning light was back on and no turn signal. I noticed that there was no brake light either. The problems continue. I haven't looked yet because work is getting in the way of life, but what other light uses the same bulb as the try signal. I saw online that the turn signal bulb is a dual filament so it shares with something else.

Thanks

Scott

Mine was doing the same. Found a loose bulb in the passenger side tail light. Double filament, one for brakes and turn signal, smaller filament for park or running lights.
Just need to reseat or replace the bulb.

Thanks D Hook, I replaced the bulb and seems to be working. That was strange the way it was acting.

Thanks,

Scott
