2006 Mountaineer Rear Window Button

The button that open the rear window on my 06 Mountaineer doesn't work, or at least the window doesn't open when you press it. Also the rear wiper doesn't work, the sprayer works, but the rear wiper does nothing. Any chance there is a connection between the problems? Thanks for any help.

My rear window unlatch always works, but rear hatch unlock works only sometimes.

The rear wiper motor shaft is probably seized up. It's a poor design, water gets in.

Rear wiper works fine on my vehicle.

But the hatch often fails to unlock on first try.

My suggestion re: the wiper was to TwiKSir.............

Intermittent hatch unlocking might be the actuator. On my '03 X, the driver door had the same problem, and replacing the actuator cured it.
