faded door panels need painting but I dont know what color to get. I called Eastwood and they offer 3 diff colors. The camel (my color from Ford) that Eastwood offers looks way to orange. Even in one of the reviews a customer stated it matched his older CARMEL interior perfectly. So I dont want that.....but which one???
I ask Eastwood customer service and tech what color and they didnt have a clue. suggested I buy them all and pick the correct color.

2007 camel interior........need part number for Eastwood or SEM
tks

well even if you do find it it prob wont match because all the other parts are faded and sun bleached over time. just FYI

Interested in this as well, my panels are so faded its unreal. Tinting my windows and then working on somehow restoring the interior as best as I can.

ColorBond LVP refinisher #326 Ford Camel is an exact match. I have used it on panels and leather steeringwheels and cannot see a difference in color between painted and unpainted parts.

I never heard of colorbond but if you have had good results with it then I will order some.
thanks for the info

I used Rust-Oleum Satin, Dark Taupe #241238 on both my door panels and steering wheel (Eddie Bauer) and it matched perfectly.

I did the same thing Grizzly did. Used the Rust-o-leum. I checked with Ford and they said the color was discontinued. I could go through Sherwin-Williams Auto Paint store, but they said a week and about $25. I went to Lowe's and matched up the Rust-o-leum perfectly. Job done. Cost - $5.:)

Might be a dumb question, but did you guys just spray paint it as you would anything else? Ive never tried to paint a door panel before. I saw a few videos on Youtube, but the company was "dying" the panels, although it was identical to spray painting.

Just painted as normal. Can't tell you how long it will last, if it peels, I'll just spray it again. Also, tint your front windows if you haven't already. This will prevent the refading.

Yeah I'm gonna wait until next Spring when it gets warm out again, and my fronts are tinted. I live in Michigan with the dumbest tint laws, so it's a risk getting my fronts done, but oh well. I wonder if they make a clear tint? I'd like to get the windshield done as well strictly to block the UV rays from fading the dash, if I got any "dark" tint at all that's just screaming to get pulled over as good as I think it looks when people do it.

in researching all this Colorbond does make a clear that you can spray on the dash to eliminate UV fading.
Doesnt give the cool look of tinted windows but helps keep the dash looking good. If the color for the doors works well then I will clear the dash to protect it. I keep my cars for a very long time so I need to preserve them the best I can

I just sprayed mine as you would anything else. I did my steering wheel & door panels in January of this year and I don't see any peeling or dis-coloration yet.

update:
I painted the drivers door panel colorbond 326. It does NOT match the dash and other plastic parts. It is much lighter than the original color.
It does look great and I dont think anyone will notice the difference. I have a little area under the radio that the black original plastic is showing and colorbond 326 will not work there without painting the entire dash. I dont want to do that.
Only time will tell if Colorbond will last but it was very easy spraying and it really does look good......a little pricey (summit) but its done for now.
thanks for the help guys
Dave
