The car has been running fine but yesterday I opened the car with the key fob & opened the door and all looked ok but when I tried starting the engine I had no engine start and a blank cluster (no lights at all!). The only things that worked were the radio and dome lights and headlights. I could hear the relays clicking here and there. I tried the gear stick to neutral..nothing.
I checked the relays and fuses and they look ok. I tested & cleaned the terminals on the battery and it is ok...tried a boost no go. Any help appreciated :)
150000km= 93205miles

are you getting a crank and no start or a no crank period.... the cluster holds the pats data so if it is removed you cant start the engine, it will not even crank because it cant read the transponder key.... so if the cluster dies you get no crank... the plug locks in really good but the cluster can be removed really easy so check if the connector is seated correctly.. also check all the fuses above your left foot.... if the cluster if dead look at spending about $600 for a new one and another $300 for programming..... 2 bolts hold in the lower trim... then 2 bolts hold in the upper trim and 4 bolts hold in the cluster IIRC they are all 7mm bolts and removal is so easy and straight forward anyone can do it by just looking at it for 5 minutes..... swapping a used cluster must be matched to identical part numbers and be programmed at a ford dealer ... 06-07's match... 08 only match 08 and 09-10's match but must have the fuel on the correct side... you also cant swap out a message center for a non message center and vise versa and mileage cant be corrected.... sport trac and explorers are different so they cant be swapped and I dont know about the mountys

Wow. Thank you for this information.

Thanks for the response MotorCityFats13
I have no crank period! I'm not sure of taking out the cluster but I will take a look at the fuses down there near the left foot...I did not know they were there...the only thing that might of caused this is 3 days of torrential rain (the hardest I ever seen in 20 years)...maybe water got in there???:eek:

Well the car works again...not sure if it was a fuse or what but it works...I banged around the "passenger compartment fuse panel"...that just doesn't make sense to me..LOL and "I also checked all the fuses above your left foot" and I tried the key and wallah...kinda makes me nervous now. I will bring it to the dealer next week just to double check.

Thank you so much MotorCityFats13 :D

I also wanted to thank Lukas2009 for the pictures i saw in another thread...thanks so much bro
