Hey guys, I've found plenty of threads detailing the vent hose on the solid rear axle but my 08 explorer limited 4wd 4.6L has the Diff and independent rear suspension making anything to do with the diff a pain. Where does the vent hose connect to the differential? I can trace one end up to the passenger rear with the white vent cap but the other end was hanging loose and I cannot find where it went. Any help or ideally pictures would be greatly appreciated. I may be totally off base but I think it's probably a differential vent.

I'm going to answer my own question in hopes it may help someone else out. There's a metal nipple on the top right hear of the differential located an inch or so from where the cover meets up with the differential. To be honest, best trick if you cannot find it is to wait until the diff is cool and feel around on the top with your hand. It's hard to see without contorting yourself while laying on the ground but that's where it is. I may try to post some pictures if anyone is interested because I'm thinking I should probably pull the hose and replace it due to age.

Hey just wanted to say thanks. I believe mine is disconnected, because on my last water crossing my rear diff filled with water.... I was getting ready to go out to figure out where it was supposed to be, and if its just disconnected or missing.... this will help out..
