Hey everyone,

So my 13 Explorer performs perfectly when there is no snow or rough conditions. But in the winter, it honestly completely sucks. And I know that I cannot complain because yes, I am running All-Seasons. So this is not generally directed towards answering the question of my ****ty winter performance.

Almost anytime I am on snow/ice and the tires slip even just the tiniest bit, this clunking noise will come from the front end, the harder I try to accelerate, the more the noise is produced consecutively. If I do it enough my AWD system will crap out and the gauge cluster will display "AWD OFF".

I'll attach a video of the noise. Just wondering what this possibly might be. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what it might be but my guess would be that it could possibly be the Traction Control system. :dunno:
The next time it happens, you can try turning TC OFF and see if you still get that noise.
