2014 Sport being sent from rail yard back to Chicago?

Same here. Ordered on June 18 and still don't have it. My customer care rep said it on a delivery hold with no update on eta. This is getting extremely frustrating. No real answers as to why and when it will be resolved.

According to the dealer, several cars had too much mastic sealer on the hood and that's why they were sent back.

Does this make sense to anyone. Where is this on the hood?

My dealer provided me with the full print out of my order's location during transit (which I presume is the same tracking system Crystal et al. are using). It was built 8/8 and sat waiting for a train for 13 days (presumably until the train was full) . It has since been trundling on said CSX train through IL, IN, OH, KY, TN, GA and was in Jacksonville FL yesterday. It took about 2 days to do each 'stop', so I've got a better idea about why it is taking my particular order so long to get here to central FL.

I got word that my EX was loaded on "Convoy" this morning. I am cautiously optimistic. Will let you all know what happens.

I was told the delay had something to do with the hood. So maybe the mastic thing is legit.

Just got a call from the dealer...Just came off the truck. Going to pick up tonight.

Congrats Greg99! Hope you enjoy it!

Please keep us updated on your status. Hopefully anything around the 8/8 build date is finally being delivered.

Congrats man! That gives us some hope!

I picked up my 8/8 build this afternoon. :)

Still no delivery date...... According to the regional ford person it never left Atlanta. It is supposedly at a ford facility here being fixed. Or to quote, "being re-flashed" whatever that means. I swear I think someone drove it off the side of the rail car! Really starting to lose patients with the process and lack of information. Not a lack of communication, just nobody knows what's going on. Seriously thinking of taking my business elsewhere....

I hear ya there Snewt1. Called Ford Customer Service Monday who told me their system still has the delivery date of 8/28 and recommended I call my dealership for more of an update. I talked to my dealership and the response I got was- "It could show up in 5 minutes or 5 days. We have no idea." I find it hard to believe you can track a pair of socks you order online from the time you place the order till it arrives at your front door, but dealerships cant track a $40,000 vehicle? Im less than impressed with this dealership's lack of communication and effort. Im relatively young (32), with the potential to be purchasing from this dealership for many years to come, so you'd expect good customer service. Well, that most likely will not be occurring. I dont expect them to make the vehicle magically appear, just a little communication once a week to let me know their trying to track it is all im looking for.

Same here. I even have a customer care rep at Ford that is supposedly tracking my vehicle that was sent back to the factory for some unknown reason. She can't tell me what's going on and when I call, she never returns my phone call unless I ask for her supervisor. Totally not impressed with Ford. All I want to know is when is it going to be done? Is that really that hard?

Apparently ford's vehicle tracking is quite limited on the dealers end. We were dealing with the sales manager who put us in touch directly with the regional customer service person. However, after catching the regional person in a lie today....... She had been telling us the vehicle was at the "Atlanta plant" once confronted about where this plant was, she finally admitted that she had had no idea all along as to where the vehicle was..... We now have the dealership owner who is supposed to go above the regional's head. We shall see....... Our communication from the dealer has been fine..... Just nobody at Ford seems to know what's going on.

Gave up on the order. Dealer tried to locate the vehicle but no one knows or know one will say where it is, what happened to it or when it might show up. Got to the point that we had to have a vehicle for the wife. So dealer did a trade with another for a sport mostly like what we wanted...... Have ordered several vehicles over the years. While our dealer did the best they could, nobody could make up for Ford's complete failure. I'm a ford guy and always will be, but this was inexcusable!

I finally took delivery today Sept 18 (ordered July 5th and built the same week the people in this thread reported issues with). My initial delivery estimate also was adjusted backwards at one point without explanation but it's here and I'm driving it now! Hope everyone waiting gets thiers soon!

Factory HOLD

My EX was delivered to the rail yard here in OKC late August. The 28th I believe. There it sits, and nobody has had an answer to that issue....

Until today.

My dealer GM personally took it upon himself to find out what was going on. (Kudos to Joe Cooper Ford Yukon OK)

The car has been placed on a "hold" by the factory. There is some kind of quality issue that Ford wants inspected before they'll release the vehicle to the dealer. We know this by way of a phone call placed to the rail delivery people who verified my VIN# has been sitting in their holding lot for 3 weeks now. My blend date was 10 Aug.

The inspection is supposed to be done by a Ford Rep who handles the OKC area, if I understood what I was told today. The GM attempted to contact the rep but in doing so found out the guy had left Ford, and he hasn't been replaced yet. So we have my car sitting there on HOLD and nobody to inspect it and no plan or ETA for getting this done. Unacceptable.

So my dealer is making calls now to get a different inspector to come down and get the car released.

I'm hopeful they will be successful in doing this. Supposed to get updated this Friday.

Good luck!

Our dealer did get a sport from another dealer for us. Thanks Mike Fitzpatrick Ford! They really did take good care of us. The vehicle is a blast to drive!

I talked to my dealer this morning and they still had no information on a delivery date....... Funny thing is, I got a message late this afternoon saying that the ordered vehicle just showed up! So if anyone in West Georgia wants a sweet black sport, get a hold of my dealer!

This really shows something was wrong with that build week (or potentially wrong) as I found out my Sport had arrived on a boat Sept 4th and then stayed at the dock holding area until Sept 17th when it got to the dealer (dock to dealer is maybe 12 miles or so). Now it makes sense that it was held up for some kind of check... I'll be interested to see if we ever find out what was the problem.

I agree there must be something wrong. First it was sent back to the factory for an electronic component replacement. Then they lost it for a couple of weeks with no answers. Now my EX is still at the factory now on an inspection hold. Still no eta yet. Will also be updated Friday to see if I may actually get it before all of my incentives expire.
