Daughter backed her Jeep into her Mom's sport today. Jeep is fine… but broke the passenger side tail light lens. All the searches I've done so far only show the entire tail light assembly as a replacement…. do you guys know if you can purchase the lens only?

Unfortunately not, only the whole assembly must be purchased. I personally would buy a new assembly.

I've had luck getting spare parts from a salvage yard; I've even picked up extra sets of tail lights. But I don't use them because they have built-in LEDs. While many manufacturers, Ford included, claim that LEDs will last the lifetime of the vehicle, there's no telling what "lifetime" actually means. It's all relative, and LEDs do degrade overtime--no matter what anyone tells you. I just use the extra tail lights to experiment, bake, tinker with, etc.

10% above dealer cost.. I believe it is the 1st one I list below and not the 2nd but listing both options.

DB5Z-13404-C TAIL LAMP ASSY, RIGHT1
2013-15, W/O POLICE INTERCEPTOR, W/LED, W/LEVEL 3
$734.03 $484.46

BB5Z-13404-C TAIL LAMP ASSY, RIGHT1
2013-15, W/O POLICE INTERCEPTOR, W/O LED
$502.08 $331.38

Edit - Please verify part numbers before ordering anything. I hate to give you the wrong part number but that's what came up when I searched for the Explorer Sport. Also, the part number should be on the inside/truck side of the taillight.

The one on eBay is a regular assy. not the Sport one. the Sports are darker.

Thanks - guys. Will be ordering. Tried "glueing back together" but as the glue dried it hazed the inside of the lens.

Lifetime means 10 years in the automotive industry.

I recently had to replace tail light on wife's 2013 XLT. With all the bad winter weather it developed a leak and the LEDs were ruined. The moisture in light actually had both tail lights flickering. Found a replacement aftermarket new lens for about $200. Can't tell the difference in the OEM one and the aftermarket. Wife's is XLT, so it is not the darkened one like on Sport. Wish the LEDs were replaceable.
