I've gotten my hands on PIU that is stuck on Drive, selector won't move. I was able to locate shifter interlock solenoid under the steering column and push plastic plunger down, it unlocks the selector, it moves but gear does not change, still on D No DTCs
Any idea what that may be?

I’ve had a couple of these stuck in park and that was from a bad BCM. So maybe a bad PCM but not sure without physical seeing the PIU.

Due to bad BCM or PCM?

Is there anything in particular you'd suggest to check? No error codes whatsoever, and no error codes were cleared within last 8k miles according to ecm live data. It just died and was towed

I re-read your post and it sounds like it’s a mechanical issue. I was thinking once you manually move the shift interlock it works, but the transmission is still in the D gear.

That is correct, selector just does not do anything

Well, the only thing I can suggest is maybe the shift cable on the transmission itself is broke, and maybe Drive was the last place it was. Sorry I’m not much help 😂
