I just picked up my 2017 Sport and noticed theres no cargo shade. I see you can order one, but where does in connect to? Is this a limitation of the sport?? Is there anyway to get a shade to work?

Connects around the back of the 2nd row headrests, along with some "wings" that clip to the plastic bottom part of the 3rd row windows.

It's a crappy implementation (considering past Ford vehicles I've had had a "roller" type system), but it works.

Can get a picture tomorrow if you so desire.

Thanks for the info. Pics would be great. This is something I really need to get

Pics are all over the web. These things look horrific and cheap.

I bought one on eBay for $28 shipped for my '16. It works, but very sorry application and fit. If you absolutely need one, don't pay dealer price for it, you'll feel cheated when you see it.

This is sad news. For a 50+k car its almost unacceptable

Not as sad, when you compare to other vehicles in the same segment.
Find a $50K 3 row SUV, that has 365hp/350tq, can two 5000lbs and comes with similar features and tech :)

U got me there. Just wish they would have thought the shade thing through a bit and made the inserts so it doesn't look half assed. Still trying to find a good pic, I see some where theres velcro on the headrests, but not finding one fully extended showing the clips

I doubt this item is used very much. As others on this Forum have posted in the other threads on cargo shades, the one that came with my 2011 Limited sat in the garage until it was time to return the vehicle at lease end.

I agree, that it should be standard on vehicles with tailgates, as my RX350 comes with one and it is removable (similar to that of a rolled up projector screen)

No, its something I would use regularly. Probably 3-5 times a month. When I bought the Sport, I never thought the inside would change and the option be pretty much deleted

I can't believe my search didn't bring that up. Thats not that bad. I can live with that. Not sure what ford charges but is there any reputable companies that make them cheaper?

Can't help you with that. I've never looked for them. If you don't find anything you like and use it quite often, perhaps you may want to consider a custom made one. I'm sure that there are outfits that would do that to your specs. Good luck.

I just use a black moving blanket to cover whatever I might have in the rear I don't want seen (like on vacation) and cuts down on glare. I can see why Ford did this cheap way as most won't use it and ALL (except for the police version) have the 3rd row and would be an issue with that.

Thanks guys, ill check for a cheap one and try it out

Just got a brand new one in the ford box for 20 bucks on eBay. Took a bit but its on and it works. For 20 smackers I'm a happy camper now

I got mine from Levittown Ford when my 2016 was less than a month old.
It's always installed & very rarely have I had to take it out.
But I agree that it is an extremely poor design implantation. The "sunshade" type of cover as used on my 1993 Explorer Sport, my 2003 BMW 325XiT Wagon, & my 2012 Escape were much better designs.
