I was going to change the code to something I can remember and the code that came with the car doesn't work.

Can I reset the whole code to another number or do I have to go back to the stinkin' dealer?

Thanks,
Tom

Factory key code

Try looking here: this is from another posting:

Welcome to the Forum karebear865.
Well for one thing, it doesn't open the liftgate, even if it was working correctly.
Did you use the method from the Owner's Guide to try and lock it?
Pressing 7.8 and 9.0 at the same time?
I assume that you do have the factory code correct? I wonder if you were given the right one by the dealer. You can try and confirm that by checking the area above the emergency (parking) brake up near the fuse box. There should be a white sticker with a bar code and numbers.

I took your advice and asked the dealer if they gave me the right code. No reply yet so maybe I'll make a personal appearance.
Thanks for the reply,
Tom

Yes, you could make a personal appearance -- drive across town, wait to be helped, etc.

Or you could shine a flash light under the dashboard, upward above the parking brake pedal, and look for a sticker with six numerical digits followed by an alphabetic character printed on it. Those six digits are the code. If they don't work, *then* drive across town.

Pretty sure I saw it in the MFT display. There was a option I saw the other day for the door passkey. Just cycle through and you will find it.

Edit: Just checked. It's under vehicle settings in the center stack. Can't miss it. but you need the original or current to change it.
