Can you confirm what is needed to add basic remote start to a 2016 Explorer that did not come equipped with remote start. I have been researching this and can't get a good answer.

It appears the only options are the long range separate FOB options but what parts are needed for this to be added to the vehicle?

Hi Jason,

I am sorry but I do not see any basic one available yet. Currently there is the long range and the bi-directional long range system as well as the cellular remote system. All 3 can be seen here http://www.levittownfordsupercenter.com/explorer-remote-start-electronics-c-29_382_386.html

As new products come out we will be updating accordingly.

Hello Benny. I just bought a 2016 Explorer Sport. It had everything we wanted except for the 2nd row center console (GB5Z-78045A36-AB.) I found it on your website. Is this a straightforward install? I'm guessing I just pull the plastic trim piece that's covering where the console will go and simply lock it into place. I just wanted to be sure before I order it and end up with a $500 paperweight.

Hi Ted,

Although the info from Ford is lacking on this accessory it appears to be complete as no supporting parts are listed. We have sold a few with no issue. If you are not satisfied with it simply return it for a refund of the part price.

Yes although we offer the option to pick up there is a fee. Our online parts department and dealer part's department operate as 2 separate entities. The pick up fee is imposed by the dealership and is out of our control. It is typically 10% of the order but we usually knock this down for our customers.

Send me a PM with your email address and products interested in and I will email you a quote with a total cost. Please also know that we must collect NY sales tax on these orders.

Both parts are required for the system to operate, It has nothing to do with factory remote start or not.

The 2016 LED fogs dont have a bulb per-say but have a module which I believe includes circuitry, heat sink and bulb all in one.

Are you looking to perform a swap? Maybe we can work something out in exchange for a write-up.
