I don't understand. If it was the other driver's fault why didn't you take it to the best body shop in town, give them the other guy's insurance information and tell them to call when it is finished. Why are you having to run around getting parts numbers and paint codes. The body shop, if they are any good, should repair it to your satisfaction and if not, do it over.

While that is the correct way things are done, thats not what this thread is about. Its about finding the correct color of silver for the 2016 bumpers inset color. Do you know the paint code of the silver on the 2016/2017 bumpers?

The paint code is the body shop's problem. Where did you take it? Topeka? Emporia?

Anyway, if I heard this:

1. Anyway, collision shop is telling me FORD DOES NOT HAVE A PAINT CODE FOR THE HITCH COVER - SO - WE MUST REMOVE THE ENTIRE LOWER BUMPER AND PAINT IT AS BEST WE CAN MATCH.

   I'd take it somewhere else.

I just bought it, its a 2016 with 42K. It has a couple minor scratches on the silver part of the bumper. Topeka (Noller) will never get my business.......I bought it from the best dealer around, Long Mcarthur in Salina. I think you are mixing me with the OP, he got in an accident, I just want to fix a couple minor scratches with touch-up paint.

Yes, I just left the dealer and called Ford corporate. Ford corporate gave me a paint code of CLFB5. Dealer said its not a good code and no googling shows it either. Dealer is giving me a bottle of UX silver ingot to use, since it appears close enough. I will update this thread if it is indeed UX.

I also called automotivetouchup, they said even with my VIN I provided, that they show no code for the silver on the front and rear bumpers......

You didn't check the Silver Gray Metallic listed on the paint chart I linked?

Yes, I even called them (see post #20). They said they cant confirm if its the same silver as the bumper color........I will test the ingot silver when I get it and report back.

sorry to revive an old thread but did anyone ever get to the bottom of this? I’m having the same issue.
