Hi - I am a new member here and would appreciate all the help and guidance.

Just got my brand new 2017 XLT (upgraded from a 2016 XLT) and noticed that the front proximity sensor hardly beeps, in fact most of the times I only see the touchscreen showing the visual (yellow or red depending on how close I am to the object) and does not sound, meaning I need to keep an eye on the road and also on the screen while parking just to ensure that I don't bump into anything. My 2016 did not do this - the front sensor beeped accurately and was very helpful.

Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

Try turning up the volume with the knob on the radio when they are showing they should be beeping.

Thanks for the response, I am going to try it today. However wouldnt it be strange to link sensor volume to the radio volume button. What if someone has the radio muted / switched off. Will post results in an hour. Thanks again.

Welcome to the Forum.
I agree and doubt that the radio volume would be connected to the sound level of the alarms. I'm guessing that the sensors always show but there is no actual warning alarm/sound. Are the rear ones working as they should? I think a dealer visit would be in order as I did not see anything in the Manual in regards to adjusting the volume.

The rear sensor beeps just fine with the same volume level all the time. I tried the volume increase / decrease method through the radio knob for the front sensor but it did not work. I cleaned the outside of the front bumber with special wiping on the sensors (almost smearing them hard with the cloth) It started working. No idea why it was not happening earlier because I did not really find anything like stuck dust or anything blocking the sensor. In fact, I was thinking if somehting was stuck on the sensor, it should have beeped constantly. Anyhow, it is now resolved and I will keep a close watch on whether it repeats.

Thanks so much to the members for quick replies and suggestions. I am glad I joined this forum!
