- 2018 Ford Explorer XLT
I bought my 2018 Explorer XLT (v6, sport appearance, has 27k miles, getting 30k service tomorrow 04/26) in January 2019 and have had a random loud knocking sound since i bought it. I've brought it in to the ford dealership i bought it from but they havent heard the noise. Its incredibly disconcerting, when it happens it can be heard clearly inside and out. I havent been able to pin down if it happens more when cold or hot or at any specific rpm. Its happened at 35mph and 70mph, in 20 degrees and 110. I've lost all trust and comfort with driving long distances or out of town and dont know what can be done. unfortunately the car is considerably underwater and I cant afford to pay someone to take it. Thanks
